Penthouse Marquis Lucifero
Why we love Penthouse Marquis Lucifero
For those seeking an extraordinary Rome experience, this historic Penthouse offers you a once in a lifetime, unique experience.Brilliantly maintained in the original medieval style; almost like being transported back in time.
This peaceful and exceptional regal home, located on the top of a medieval tower, is in the most ancient and characteristic part of Rome, around the corner from the famous Campo dei Fiori, where things come alive on a daily basis, with typical Roman flavour in the open fruit and vegetable market.
The Penthouse has an interesting history, once being the family home of the Noble, Lancia family, relatives of the Princes Farnese, the grand Piazza of the same name Piazza Farnese is around the corner.
The building, in fact, was built over an ancient Roman temple still visible in the basement, dedicated either to Hercules or to the God Neptune.
Please note that given the ancient history of the apartment and the building, which has been left in it’s original state with the original stairs to take you to the third floor, the apartment is for those that choose the love of the history and old world charm and are prepared to compromise the stone stairs and overlook that this apartment and the building are far from what is considered modern day accommodation. Not recommended for the elderly.
The living room, published some time ago on the cover of Architectural Digest, is a Luis XVI fantasy decorated with angels and tree tops on a sky background.
The apartment sleeps four people, as it is comprised of one beautiful master bedroom with a double bed (2 x single mattresses in double frame) as well as a second double sofa bed, which is cleverly concealed, folding out from the wall near a mirror in the living area.
The bathroom has a shower and a beautiful washbasin, custom made in heavy high quality marble. There is also a wc and bidet.
The quaint kitchenette is fully equipped and two French doors, opening on to the small balcony, offer an enchanting view of the several church domes and the ancient Roman rooftop.
All the furniture is original seventeenth century and the china, belonging to the Lucifero family, is part of a collection of “Giustiniani”
The apartment is surrounded by great Italian restaurants, outdoor cafes, supermarkets and open markets, all in the neighbourhood.
The ideal location makes the apartment within short walking distance to Trastevere, Piazza Navona and all the famous Roman landmarks, that you came to experience in the eternal city.
On arrival, the check in people will familiarise you with the apartment, pointing out various renowned artworks and objects related to the apartments history.
