Why we love Apartment Mura Latine

Rome Apartment Mura Latine is a nice apartment located in a quiet building just minutes from the Colosseum: Fori Imperiali

This is for the traveler that isn’t looking for the hustle and bustle of the regular tourist crowd; rather looking to stay in the Rome where the Romans live, with the advantage of shopping locally in the friendly neighborhood and choosing to see the sites or visit the center, close by when they wish.

The apartment is safely located behind gates in a typical gardened condominium.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor with elevator and the owner has created an “honest” renovation offering every comfort and amenity.

Well maintained, warm and homely, yet not overdone; space, comfort and value for money is the key here.

The combined living and dining area has a comfortable sofa and an antique dining area.

From the window you see the original walls of Rome, that have remained in their original state since

There are three very spacious bedrooms, one a queen bedroom and the other two have twin beds and ample wardrobe space

There are two bathrooms; an en-suite with a bath, the second has a shower.

The kitchen is decorated in high quality marble and there’s a matching marble breakfast table.

An ideal relaxing apartment to come home to after an exciting day spent walking around the eternal city.

Car parking in the area is easier than other parts of Rome as there are some free parking areas and others that cost 1 euro per hour, during the day.

Perfect we would love to return. Thank you for the great service. Lovely place. We will be back. Taxis waited 3 hours for our late arrival. God bless him!

Lovely, spacious apartment in a residential area about 15 minutes' walk south of the Colosseum. A trattoria is conveniently situated just down the road, as is a wine/coffee bar where we enjoyed a pleasant Sunday pre-lunch drink. Buses 628 and 81 are useful routes, and we also used the Metro from the Colosseum and Circo Massimo, though most of the time we walked everywhere, returning in a taxi at night. Rome taxis are not expensive if you are a party of four. A few plumbing issues were quickly responded to by the management and their on-the-ground team, who were all friendly and obliging. Airport transfers by private taxi were very smooth in each direction.

We were pleased with the flat and the area was a little further out than we thought, but it was idea. Good local restaurants that served excellent food and were very welcoming,it was great after a long day sight seeing to move out slightly away from the touristy areas. Good local supermarkets ,local bakery and fruit market. The Italians do like to play football late in to the night, but it was OK.

We all loved the apartment we stayed in - Mura Latine. The location is not within the city center, therefore, it was quiet and the air is clean. We just had to learn how to take the bus instead of the metro to go everywhere. Restaurants are nearby and a supermarket as well. The only thing we didn't like was the shower enclosure. The doors are not closing properly and the shower head keeps falling on our head when we raise it up. The enclosure is also rather small even for Asian sizes. Everything else was perfect. We would definitely recommend the apartment to friends and family. Nice area! Not too far from everywhere. Also, next time we are in Rome, we would definitely love to stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Three very good size bedrooms. It was a little out of the way, but had its advantages by being surrounded by locals and giving you a more authentic feel of Rome. A bus stop was over the road to take you into the 'city'. You could walk to the metro 15-20 minutes. If you really enjoy walking then the Colosseum is only 20 - 30 minutes away.

We stayed here for a week in July 2013 as a family with two children aged 14 and 12. The apartment was clean and spacious. Each of the three bedrooms was very large. We enjoyed being close to the local village market and nearby shops. There were many choices for eating out. The local restaurants were good quality. Transport by bus into Rome was easy although some times there was a quite a wait for a bus.It is worth taking insect repellant if you intend leaving the windows open at night time. We would stay here again.

Party type: Family Group     Visiting from: United States    Review date: May 2013

Wonderful place, very comfortable and large. It was a wonderful resbit from the city...a little on the outskirts but walking distance to the Coliseum. Everything worked out well, all amenities (kitchen, baths, oven etc) all worked well. Thank you for the wonderful place.

Very spacious and tastefully decorated apartment. Had everything we needed. Was clean and comfortable. We were met by a friendly and helpful lady. Was in a fantastic location close to a supermarket and restaurants and easy walking distance to the Colosseum.

This is a great apartment in a lovely area of Rome. It is very roomy and except for a dodgy powerpoint in the living room and a dodgy warm water tap in the kitchen - everything works well. It is within walking distance of most of the tourist areas in Rome and the number 81 bus takes you straight to the Vatican. It is also close to excellent supermarkets and some lovely cafes - a market - and we even walked to the catacombs! Rosie was also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! ( thanks Richard, for reporting the dodgy powerpoint and tap, both have been reportedto the owner for immediate repair!) WWA

We very much enjoyed our stay at Mura Latine. The apartment is very spacious and even better than the photos. It is in a lovely courtyard which is very secure. It was also really nice to be in a quiet area in the suburbs of Rome and yet only a 10-minute walk to the Colosseum. Overall very clean with comfortable beds, nice big bathrooms, good shower and excellent wifi reception. Nice big windows brought in welcome breezes on very hot summer days! Parking was also fine as the owner had "reserved" a place for us just out front. We were able to get parking vouchers from the tabacco shops which only cost 8 euros a day, which is very reasonable in Rome. Really good restaurants just down the road and a fantastic fruit/veg market. The only slightly negative comments would be that the water pressure in the kitchen was very low which made washing up a bit tricky but otherwise everything else was great! Would definitely recommend and come back.

Good value for money---yet the apartment can be a bit noisy in the summer months.

Party type: Family Group     Visiting from: United States    Review date: June 2012

This is an inexpensive option if you are able to walk 15 minutes to metro. No airconditioning and Rome can be very hot! A few good dining options nearby are worth repeat visits. Few people speak English in this working class section of Rome. (working class? perhaps middle class)

This place was absolutely perfect! We were 3 couples traveling together and everything about it fit our needs. It was very clean, spacious and conveniently located. The Colosseum is a 10-15 walk. The San Giovanni Metro station is also about a 10 minute walk - which takes you to the Termini Station and also Spanish Steps, Vatican. Across the street is a wonderful restaurant "Romolo e Remo" which you can get great food at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place.

Party type: Family Group     Visiting from: France    Review date: April 2012

A very spacious, well located apartment in a very nice neighbourhood. Easy to find & easy to get to by foot or by public transport. The use of the kitchen tap & electric plugs could be better explained, but otherwise very good. Rosie was very helpful and flexible regarding our arrival. Romolo e Remo, the local restaurant is a must, as are the cafes nearby. Buy your ticket for the Colosseum, Forum & Palatine Hill at the Palatine Hill entrance to avoid the queues! Try Luzzi, a restaurant near the Colosseum (Via Celimontana 1-3) - excellent food at very good prices! Ostia Antica, a 20 minute train ride from Rome a must.

We had some initial issues with the apartment but the way in which they were handled was excellent. The service worldwide accom. provided was second to none and I would absolutely recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Apartment Mura Latine. The apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Our greeter Rosie was extremely helpful and friendly despite there being a mixup with our transfer from the train station which had her waiting for us for over an hour at the apartment to let us in.We were delighted to find that the apartment now has internet access as we had read some previous reviews which advised this was the only thing missing. The apartment is within walking distance to the Colosseum and has a bus stop across the road for getting into town. Would highly recommend this apartment for family groups as it is in a very secure location within a complex. Would love to return one day.

Wonderful location, just over a 1 km walk from the Colosseum. Easy bus from Termini, 1 bus to Colosseum. The best food we had in Rome is 1/2 block away at Romulus e Remus. Morning coffee and pastries 1 block away. Friendly Roman neighborhood, just barely outside the hustle and bustle of Tourist Rome. Very nice apartment. Highly recommended.

Excellent stay, and the apartment host was exceptionally helpful which definitely helped us enjoy the holiday even more. Airport transfers were smooth. Again, many thanks to the Apartment owner - who was excellent.

Beautiful apartment and a great location a pleasant 20 minute walk from the Colleseum. The view of the Roman wall from our bedroom was icing on the cake of a very comfortable four day stay. You've got to love Rome.

A lovely apartment in Rome, 10-15 min walk to the Coliseum. A fantastic restuarant only 2 mins away from the apartment called romulus and remus which makes the best pizza, the staff were great too.

This apartment is in a terrific location about fifteen minutes walk from the Colosseum. There is great shopping in the immediate area from high end to markets. The apartment is a very good size and was easily big enough for our party of six. The apartment was clean and well presented. The plumbing was a little temperamental - but we were very impressed overall.

Party type: Family Group     Visiting from: Australia    Review date: December 2010

We loved the location and the accommodation. The only amenity it lacked was internet access which would have been very helpful. We could walk ten minutes to the Colloseum. The local coffee shop was fantastic. Great space in the apartment for all 6 of us. Lots of space for all of us. We would have liked internet access. Easy access to the apartment which helped with all our luggage. We appreciated all the help we received from the landlord, and shuttle service. Even when our flights were late, she still waited and was very polite and helpful to us. Great memories of our trip to Roma.

We were very pleased with this spacious, clean and comfortable apartment - ideal for our group with young children. This is a pleasant location with easy access by bus or taxi to other parts of the city. Strongly recommended. Mike AuU

The Mura Latine was a very pleasant surprise! the apartment was light, centrally located, a short walk to the colleseum, and much larger than expected. The 3 bedrooms were very large with huge windows, and a fan provided in each room. Very well equipped for a family of 6. There is a supermarket close by, and the apartment is in a security block, so felt extremely safe. Would definately stay here again! Sandra H, Australia

Very spacious and well maintained apartment in excellent location for the independent-minded traveller. Two bathrooms and three large bedrooms made it an excellent choice for our party of 6. And the lift is a bonus for older travellers, or families with young children, or anyone with an injury or disability. Good local, but traditional shops (ie no supermarket)and really very easy to get around Rome at large as long as you have a decent bus map (at least 3 very useful bus routes pass within 2 blocks - one even right outside). We bought an excellent route-map for only 3euro and confidently navigated our way around using a 4euro 24hr ticket that allows you to hop on and off buses and metro trains all day. If you're a keen walker it's also easy to stroll straight to the Colosseum/Roman Forum and then on into central Rome (then simply catch a bus home if you found you've walked too far). Rosie, the contact person for the apartment, was a treasure! She gave us excellent directions over the phone before we arrived, and was really friendly and full of helpful information when she greeted us there. She also booked our airport transfer for us, which turned out to be very good value once you work out the real cost of using public transport to Fiumicino (hauling luggage across town, dealing with Termini, not to mention the extra time). Rosie was fantastic - don't ever lose her!Stephanie, Australia

Our apartment was lovely. Nicer than the photos. The staff helping us were wonderful. Our location was great for walking, subway or bus. We will definitely use Italy Accom for out next trip to Italy. An apartment is much better for two couples than a hotel.
