Why we love Apartment Ambrose - Palazzo Fortuny

Ambrose is one of seven meticulous apartments located in one building, Palazzo Fortuny; a rare and unique gem, centrally located, yet privately and safely tucked away behind secure gates.

This elegant Roman Palazzo is perched on a small hill in a setting of lush greenery with spectacular views of Rome from every window.

It is conveniently bordering Villa Borghese, surrounded by trees offering a tranquil environment, almost like being in the country with no traffic noise, yet fifteen minutes away from Piazza Del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, where you can indulge in the occasional shopping spree or choose to dine in one of the many great restaurants in this area.

This exquisite, bright and large apartment is on the third floor with an elevator.

The entrance hall takes you to a fully equipped kitchen complete with five burner stove, dishwasher, full size fridge/freezer and everything you need to try your hand at some Italian dishes; try Rome’s wonderful cuisine right in your own home or enjoy the panoramic views from the terrace while relaxing or dining outdoors.

Everything, starting from the terracotta tiles throughout the apartment, has been stylishly and meticulously carried out; tasteful high quality fittings have been chosen throughout and careful detail has been given to ensure that guests are comfortable at all times.

The spacious open living and dining space is furnished with long white sofas and a large TV with English channels and a dvd player.

This room has two air conditioning units and on this same level there are two lovely bedrooms; one is a spacious master bedroom with a ceiling fan, and an extra single bed.

There’s the first bathroom, which is an en-suite bathroom, with a shower.

The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third bedroom has two single beds, these two bedrooms share a bathroom with an over sized bathtub and a hand shower.

There are also two extra single beds located in an open alcove that runs off the living area.

This is the perfect location for extended family groups or several couples traveling together who wish to spend time enjoying a true home in Rome, with lunches and dinners al fresco on the magnificent terrace.

There are also" six other apartments in the same buiding making this an excellent choice for groups traveling together sleeping up to 38 people in the same building.

  • It must be noted that the street in which this building is located is approximately 100 metres from the main street of via Flaminia and the building is at the end of this street which has an incline, if you have any mobility issues this should be taken into consideration.

We really liked the apartment. The terrace was great for meals as was the market around the corner. We like cooking so more cooking aids such as sharp knives would have been appreciated. Will come again and use worldwide accommodation as everything worked out fine Chris keys

Lovely apartment with great terrace and views. Conveniently located for public transportation and sightseeing. A very comfortable alternative to hotels for our party of 7 that included 3 children.

great place to stay for an extended family or two families; very quiet and easy to find , near a small mercato Pallazo Fortuny is an old well maintained villa ...everything is "vechio" and tastefull decorated ( the images on site are accurate) ; heating work perfectly on late autum.

this is a stunning apartment. It's not actually near the Spanish Steps (15 mins on foot) but very close to Piazza de Popilo which is central to a lot of the things you want to see. We walked everywhere and there was the most amazing fruit shop just down the road. the apartment itself is huge (we had 5 adults staying and there was room for 5 more. the upper balcony is just as the picture shows. Pure Magic. There are two sensationally good air conditioning units in the living room which was needed in the height of summer (41c+ everyday) It could do with aircon in the bedroooms. it was hot. we will use it again. even if there is only two of us. sitting on the roof balcony for breakfast, watch the sun come up over Rome, priceless.

We had the most amazing week staying in this spectacular apartment. The location is fantastic - we were able to walk to almost every destination we wanted to visit. What a special place to celebrate my 50th birthday with five of my dearest friends. I didn't want to leave!! It was worth every bit of the money we spent. It was SO much more enejoyable than staying in a hotel. The facilities are very, very good. The rooftop area is a wonderful space. I would come back tomorrow if I could. Thank you!! Augusto was extremely helpful. He really made our week in the apartment so much easier due to his assistance with where to get local produce food etc.

Great apartment, it's actually bigger than it looks in the pictures, and the view over Rome at sunset is amazing. The roof deck is also fantastic and enormous. We had 8 people plus an infant staying here. You can have 6 people in proper bedrooms, then 2 people sleep in twin beds that connect to the living room/dining room (without doors). In our case, we had our nine year old boys stay there, so it wasn't a problem, but something to consider otherwise. The only caveat I'd mention is that the apartment is on a bit of a hill that you have to walk up. Not a factor for most, but for someone with mobility issue it's worth noting. (It is very easy to get a taxi to the apt.)

Absolutely perfect place for a large group trip to Rome. The apartment itself is a fantastic space; roomy, comfortable and welcoming. The layout also can work for couples, families or whatever arrangement you need. And the roof deck is the icing on the cake! In therms of the location; it's second to none. You're close to everything: the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and lots of others are all in walking distance. Don't think twice- take it
