Destination Vatican

Why we love Vatican

The area surrounding the Vatican is a middle class residential area, that is busy in the day with Vatican tourists and locals – at night becoming very peaceful. If your main reason for visiting Rome is the Vatican, then this area is perfect, as the accommodation here tends to be slightly less expensive

Apartment Via del Falco

Location is terrific...2 min walk to Vatican City. Many other attractions...Colosseum, Trevi Fountains, Pantheon, Parks, Museums, etc. can also be walked to. Coffee shops, mini-markets and restaurants are located just steps away from the apartment. The apartment is very spacious (easily accommodated 4 adults) with separate kitchen and eating areas. I was very pleased with the airport pickup service and the subsequent process where I was shown the apartment and given the keys. I had arrived several hours earlier than initially expected and the ground shuttle company was able to arrange an immediate pickup at the airport as well as to have the apartment representative present upon my arrival.

Great apartment in good location near shops restaurants attractions etc. Also close to a Metro station (keep everything zipped as crowds = very skilful pickpockets!). Maria very helpful. Booked a car to airport at end of visit, everything well organised and efficient. Rome is great city, look for the sidestreets cafes and restaurants after you've done the obvious busy touristy stuff. Would definitely go to the same location again as service was excellent.
Apartment Ottaviano II

We booked this apartment based on its proximity to the Vatican and Metro. The Metro could be reached in 2 minutes and Vatican City in 5 minutes. The apartment is on third floor and there is a small elevator for those whose legs are not up to the climb. We were met by Sophie and her husband on arrival, and shown around the apartment as well as being given some very useful travel and visitor information. The apartment was spacious and most of all quiet. It was an oasis of peace and tranquility after a hectic day in Rome. The church nearby rang a bell now and then but it was nothing excessive. There are plenty of power points in the apartment for charging phones, cameras and iPads and everything is there that you will need, even down to a hairdryer, iron and small ironing board. The bathroom is fine and while Sophie was concerned about my large 6' 2" bulk fitting in the shower, but it was fine. We will be returning to Rome to see stuff that we didn't get round to this time, and will book Ottaviana II again if we can. We booked the airport transfers through Worldwode Accom, and on both occasions the drivers were bang on time, even for the 7am departure. A little more expensive than a taxi but well worth it for peace of mind.

It was wonderful arriving at our condo after a long day of travel and find it to be so inviting, comfortable and pleasant. Everything was spotless and convenient. A very nice place.
