Why we love Apartment Ottaviano II

A wonderful accommodation choice for the budget traveller, Apartment Ottaviano II offers all the modern comforts to make your stay in Rome a perfect one.

Apartment Ottaviano is situated in the Vatican area and is well-connected to public transport. The area is relatively quiet in comparison to the Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori areas for example and therefore makes for a great home base from which to explore Rome. Both the Vatican and Saint Peter’s Basilica are a 300 meter walk from the apartment.

Metro line A is right next door (a 2-minute walk from the apartment) and getting to the main attractions, such as the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain couldn’t be easier.

The apartment is composed of a fully equipped kitchen and dining/living area, a bathroom with shower and bath, and a loft area where there is a comfortable queen-size bed sleeping two guests.

The Vatican area hosts several typical, authentic Roman restaurants, as well as supermarkets and speciality shops should you prefer to cook at home. ‘Castroni’ is a local favourite, located on Via Cola di Rienzo.

The friendly owners of this apartment are multilingual and are willing to help you in any way they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

There is a smaller apartment right next door on the same floor Apartment Ottaviano I and together with Apartment Ottaviano II, the apartments can accommodate up to eight people. Perfect for a large group traveling together wanting to be close to the Vatican area.

We booked this apartment based on its proximity to the Vatican and Metro. The Metro could be reached in 2 minutes and Vatican City in 5 minutes. The apartment is on third floor and there is a small elevator for those whose legs are not up to the climb. We were met by Sophie and her husband on arrival, and shown around the apartment as well as being given some very useful travel and visitor information. The apartment was spacious and most of all quiet. It was an oasis of peace and tranquility after a hectic day in Rome. The church nearby rang a bell now and then but it was nothing excessive. There are plenty of power points in the apartment for charging phones, cameras and iPads and everything is there that you will need, even down to a hairdryer, iron and small ironing board. The bathroom is fine and while Sophie was concerned about my large 6' 2" bulk fitting in the shower, but it was fine. We will be returning to Rome to see stuff that we didn't get round to this time, and will book Ottaviana II again if we can. We booked the airport transfers through Worldwode Accom, and on both occasions the drivers were bang on time, even for the 7am departure. A little more expensive than a taxi but well worth it for peace of mind.

Very nice apartment, spacious and clean. The spiral staircase might not be the most suitable for young children, as it's not well guarded at the top.

Great location & apartment, we would definitely stay there again.

We had an excellent stay. A couple of things came up and they were promptly taken care of, which impressed us greatly. An overall great stay.

This apartment was just lovely, and owners Emily and her husband were very friendly and forthcoming. We would definetely visit Rome and use this type of accomodation. It made our stay in Rome great and we felt as we were home. Thank you.
